MJ Smith & Partners Workplace Investigators are qualified investigators with broad experience in conducting workplace investigations across a spectrum of workplace issues for a variety of sectors.
Generally, MJ Smith & Partners (MJSP) adopts the following process in the conduct of Workplace Investigations:

Receipt of Formal Complaint. This is the subject of the Workplace Investigation and Terms of Reference, which form the framework of the Investigation and are specific to organisational requirements;

If not provided by the engaging organisation, MJSP will draft the Terms of Reference outlining the following:
- The allegations that are to be subject to investigation;
- The initial witnesses to be interviewed;
- The initial documentation required to be reviewed;
- The date for delivery of the Investigation Report;
- Anticipated duration of investigation, including drafting of Report.

Liaison with identified contact person to arrange:
- Interview dates, times and venues
- Access to required documentation.

Drafting correspondence to the complainant and respondent, outlining the nature of the allegations and the investigation process.

Conduct of Interviews (including any additional interviews that may be required further to the interviews) and review of relevant documentation.

Drafting and Delivery of Investigation Report including:
- Report Findings (i.e. investigation outcomes, whether or not specific allegations were substantiated).
- Report Recommendations (Optional. Recommendations as to appropriate action, if any, to address substantiated allegations. Additional recommendations are also included, if relevant, which address subsidiary issues identified during the investigation process).
